About me
Hello! I'm Rohan Sharma, a Computer Science student specializing in AI and Machine Learning at the University of Maryland, College Park. I have an interest in leveraging technology to solve real-world problems, which is best demonstrated by my recent internships and projects.
🎓 Educational Background
I'm pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with a
concentration in AI/Machine Learning and a Minor in
Technology Entrepreneurship. My academic achievements have been
recognized with a Presidential Merit Scholarship.
💼 Professional Experience
I recently completed a software engineering internship at
Crestron Electronics and am currently a full-stack intern at a startup, both of which have been excellent learning experiences
that allow me to work on real-world problems and collaborate
with industry professionals.
🛠️ Technical Stack
My preferred languages are Python, C/C++, and Java, but I have
also dabbled in Ruby, Rust, and OCaml. Through my ML concentration and personal projects, I have experience with Tensorflow, Scikit-Learn, PyTorch, and more. On the web development
front, I am comfortable with React, Flask, and JavaScript, among
other technologies.
🔭 Projects
I enjoy building! Whether it's CareerNinja, a web-based platform
that conducts AI-powered mock interviews, or Diamondback Course
Search, a tool that revolutionizes how students discover courses
at UMD, my projects reflect my desire to create impactful
solutions.
📚 Life Beyond Code
Aside from my academic and professional commitments, I founded
and currently lead "Learn to Code at UMD," an initiative aimed
at making coding accessible to everyone, irrespective of their
field of study. Our club aims to give members an understanding
of basic Python and data structures through weekly meetings.
🎯 Future Aspirations
I'm currently on the lookout for full-time Software Engineering jobs for January 2025. I'm particularly interested
in roles that will allow me to leverage my skills to drive
innovation and efficiency in the tech or finance industry.
